Neurofeedback has profound implications for helping people with addictions, ADD, and other unwanted neurological states. My friend is a leading researcher in the field of neurofeedback. She had extended the invitation for us to "play" with my brainwaves awhile back, and so I took her up on her offer.
We found that I could enter the theta brainwave state at will, and could remain in that state for long periods of time, which didn't necessarily surprise me. Theta waves are the slowest brainwaves that are produced when one is in-between sleep and dreaming. According to one description, "theta waves have been associated with states of enhanced creativity, super learning, deeper relaxation, and day-dreaming." It was a nice visual confirmation of the state that I enter when I do when I do inner power sessions with clients.
My friend and I talked for six hours straight about brainwave science and how this scientific tool is actually a method for people to tap into their highest selves. When we are in the theta state, all petty ego chatter and mental noise is turned completely off, and we are communicating with our highest selves.
My friend recommends the book "The Neuro Revolution: How Brain Science is Changing our World" and there are also other entrainment tools that get you into theta state.
Wherever you are, seeking out a qualified neurofeedback practitioner in your area will help you achieve the theta state.
